Onomatopoeia Painting

This is the last of our collage lessons.we are also moving into some ""Pop Art" style lessons.  This one was inspired by Roy Lictenstein.  We used tempera paint (only primary colors) and old dictionary pages for the collage.  When complete, they painted a layer of Modge podge over the top to get a shiny texture.  The students are fascinated with modge podge.  For many, this final step kept them motivated to finish.

Animal collage

Here is another collage project where we used the scraps that we've been saving from our last two projects.  It's a great way to make the most of the resources available in the art room.  Students created these collages right on top of  a black and white photo copy.

Stunning!
